A Legacy of Excellence
The story of Zenith begins in the mid-19th century in the picturesque Swiss town of Le Locle. Here, in 1865, a young watchmaker named Georges Favre established his own manufacture. Together with his wife Louise-Philippine Jacot-Descombes, herself from a family of watchmakers, they laid the foundation for what would become a legend.
Their determination, precision, and unwavering belief in fine craftsmanship gave rise to a brand that would later become synonymous with accuracy and innovation.

Georges Favre-Jacot was among the first to realize that true perfection could only be achieved by bringing all watchmaking professions under one roof. This principle — still at the core of the brand today — allowed Zenith to reach an exceptional level of quality and accuracy. By the end of the 19th century, Zenith had already gained worldwide recognition, earning more than 2,300 chronometry awards, including several world records, making it the most decorated watch manufacture in history.
